The Department of Natural Sciences is
designed for students who plan to receive an Associate in Science Degree in
order to transfer to a four-year institution and pursue the Bachelor of Science
degree in the Natural Science or related fields. The areas of study comprising the Department of Natural Science
are (1) Biology, (2) Chemistry, (3) Physics, and (4) Physical Science.
Objectives:
- The program objectives are to educate
students in the basic principles of scientific reasoning and problem
solving. This enhances their
ability to assess critical situations accurately.
- The Allied Health and related
professions are designed to prepare the student for entrance into a
four-your institution with emphasis in the various allied health
professions. Moreover, the Allied
Health and related professions are designed to enhance student' analytical
thinking skills, communication skills and learn to apply these skills and
other teaching to the job market.
- The College has established linkage
programs in the Allied Health area with Jefferson State Community College,
Wallace Community College in Hanceville, and the University of Alabama at
Birmingham in the following areas:
Funeral Service Education, Biomedical, Medical Assistant, Occupational
Therapy Assistant, Equipment Technology, Physical Therapist, Assistant
Emergency Medical Services, and Dental Hygiene.
