
Employee Leave
Eligible Employees are entitled to "leave with pay" and "leave without pay" based on ACCS Board Policies 610.01 and 611.01.
Reporting Leave Requirement:
It is the policy of Lawson State Community College that all employees eligible to receive leave benefits MUST report their leave in Ellucian Banner Employee Self-Service accurately and faithfully. Failure to submit leave and being unaccountable at work is a violation of policy and standard ethics practices.
Approval of Leave:
All types of leave, except sick leave, to include personal, professional and annual should be pre-approved by the employees direct supervisor and notification of leave should be submitted prior to the leave being taken. It is never appropriate to submit a request for leave, after an employee has already taken the leave. Sick Leave: If sick and requesting leave for an extended period of time, supervisors and Human Resources officials may require the employee to submit a medical excuse.
Employees shall be allowed the following official holidays on which days the institution shall be closed:
New Year’s Day
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Memorial Day
Juneteenth
Independence Day
Labor Day
Veterans Day
Thanksgiving Day
The day after Thanksgiving Day
Christmas Eve
Christmas Day
